For a .5 capacity it can accomodate large dishes. Heats and defrosts perfectly. Highly recommend it!!! Someone else here noted that you can’t just punch in a time (say 3 min). While that is true (you must hit the 30 increment button) to get the time you want, in reality this doesn’t take any longer than punching in 3:00. Clean and concise. An awesome little beauty that does everything I need. Heats up my drinks, melts my chocolate better than any other machine,potatoes turn out great and also does the steam bags to suit me. I really have to wonder how long it takes to figure out the control panels of OTHER microwaves. This is a short and sweet machine and I don’t mind a bit paying a little more here at Amazon. The smallest ones at Wally World are .00 and aren’t worth even a portion of that. Keep up the good work Whirlpool, you really nailed it on this small and mighty appliance. One other note that seems minor but it turns out to be a great selling point for the less flexible among us. All other microwaves are built so you have to dip your head to get your stuff out or just clean the inside. Some wonderful genius made this machine so the shelf is elevated ….YEP you just look in at normal height and there is your heated stuff and you don’t have to stand on your head to clean the interior.
